The bride robe for 1906/07 in its exquisite beauty is such an enviable creation that a woman is tempted to forget the "ideal" she is looking for and solemnly pledge her vows at Hymen's altar.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The bride of the new year has the unique distinction of introducing a number of original ideas and of setting the pace with regard to the favored fabrics, their cut and design, which to a large extent predominate throughout the winter as the accepted mode. Then the Easter bride comes along with her novelties particularly suited to spring time. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Here are some general facts that will doubtless answer queries of the bride to be.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>
A Few Words To The Bride To Be.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The trains of the bridal gowns are moderate in length and round. The length of the skirt for a formal wedding is 72 inches; for the quiet weddings it varies according to the taste of the bride. When married in the going-away costume, the skirt should trail several inches on the floor as a reception gown, or at least "break" for several inches.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The skirts for the bridesmaids and maid of honor scarcely more than touch the floor, and some are even dancing length, for which purpose they are afterwards used. For the matron of honor, the mother of the bride or groom, the floor length is most often seen, that is lying on the floor for five inches and just touching in front. A skirt that sweeps the floor in front is most difficult to handle with any grace.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There is a great variety of designs for the bridal robe, but for women who can wear them those mostly favored are the semi-Empire effects and the Princess. The semi-Empire is usually a carefully-fitted Princess having a Watteau plait in the back, springing either from between the shoulders or starting a few inches above the waist. The gowns not fitted snugly around are, nevertheless, closely confined to the figure in the front and at the sides, and in back there is frequently a suspicion of the short-waited Empire. This effect is simulated by the actual fitting and by the raising of the girdle or scarf ends which spring from the center of the corsage and extends under the arms, terminating in the center of the back.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
gowns for the bridesmaids and maid of honor are fashioned over these picturesque lines which go well with the fanciful headgear, sweeping Gainsboroughs or saucy Nepolean toques.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Draped surplice effects with the daintiest of chemisettes are especially graceful and produce lines generally becoming. Bretelles simulating a surplus effect of the bridal fabric, worn over a bodice of lace, is a pleasing edition of this style. Both high and round necks prevail for all wedding gowns. When girdles are worn they are well fitted, rather wide, and curve out over the figure in a graceful sweep, but few are pointed.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><b><br /></b></div><div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Bridal Fabrics and Garnitures</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The favored materials for bridal gowns are Duchess satin, softer and more clinging than formerly, chiffon, chiffon cloth, liberty satin, satin meteor, messaline, peau de creape, crepe de chene, lace mounted over chiffon and silk.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For the bridesmaids and maid of honor all the soft silks, with messaline and meteor in shadow, check and plaids or self color, chiffon cloth, peau de crepe, silk muslin or mull fancy nets and pompadour chiffons in their most delectable and subtle colorings are most often employed.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hand embroidery is shown to particular advantage on chiffon gowns. Silver tissue, lace and embroideries are among the elaborate garnitures. Under a lace robe was recently worn a slip of silver tissue with roses of same decorating the skirt and bodice. Lace is always to be depended upon, and the brides of the season are favoring various meshes, point laces, Duchess, Brussels, point de Venise, d'Alencon, Brussels, Princess and Limerick.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">

"A blind man's wife needs no painting"</i></div><div><div style="text-align: center;"><i> </i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>"Who has a fair wife needs more than two eyes. "</i></div></div><div><div style="text-align: center;"><i><br /></i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i> " The lazy wife has broken her elbow at the church door..."</i></div></div><div><div style="text-align: center;"><i> </i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>"Women and hens through too much gadding are lost."</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><i><br /></i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>"The wife that expects to have a good name, is always at home, as if she were lame."</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><i><br /></i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>"He that lets his wife go to every feast and his horse drink at every water will have neither a good wife nor a good horse.''</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><i><br /></i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i> "He that tells his wife news is but newly married;" for "she conceals what she knows not."</i></div></div><div><div style="text-align: center;"><i> </i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>"One tongue is enough for a woman."</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><i><br /></i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>"There is no mischief in the world done, but a woman is always one."</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><i><br /></i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Indeed, "women and dogs set men by the ears."</i></div></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i><br /></i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i> "A woman's mind and winter-wind often change," and yet, "swine, women, and bees cannot be turned. <div style="text-align: center;"><i><br /></i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>"Other people, especially the unmarried, can tell you just how to make domestic life a success..."</i></div></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i><br /></i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>"Bachelors, wives' maids, and children are always well taught;" but frequently one of these wiseacres falls in love, ties a knot with his tongue that he can't untie with his teeth, and finds in truth that 'wedlock is a padlock.'"</i></div><div><div style="text-align: center;"><i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><i>"In spite, however, of the ancient saying that "honest men marry soon, wise men not at all" and that you</i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>should "commend a wedded life, but keep yourself a bachelor," the world continues to try the trick over and over again. <div style="text-align: center;"><i><br /></i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>"Wives must be had, Be they good or bad."</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><i><br /></i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Perhaps it is true that "age and wedlock bring a man to his night-cap;" but the average fellow agrees</i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>with Martin Luther that "He who loves not woman, wine and song, He is a fool his whole life long."</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><i><br /></i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>"Marriage has kept the world sane; it brings contentment; it creates order; it inspires personal progress."</i></div>

He later asked John Moritz, who was in charge of the city's greenhouses, to set up a display greenhouse to showcase various plants which could survive. It is said that someone called the displays "like a jewel box", hence the name. In 1933, </span><span style="font-family: arial;">Bernard Dickmann</span><span style="background-color: white; color: #202122; font-family: arial; text-align: left;"> became </span><span style="font-family: arial;">Mayor of St. Louis</span><span style="background-color: white; color: #202122; font-family: arial; text-align: left;"> and decided to build a new facility. Cameo<span class="nowrap"><span class="IPA nopopups"><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA_for_English" title="Help:IPA for English"><span style="border-bottom: 1px dotted;"><span title="/ˈ/ primary stress follows"></span><span title="'k' in 'kind'"></span><span title="/æ/ short 'a' in 'bad'"></span><span title="'m' in 'my'"></span><span title="/i/ 'y' in 'happy'"></span><span title="/oʊ/ long 'o' in 'code'"></span></span></a></span></span> is a method of carving an object such as an engraved gem, item of jewelry or vessel made in this manner. It nearly always features a raised (positive) relief image; contrast with intaglio, which has a negative image.
Originally, and still in discussing historical work, cameo only
referred to works where the relief image was of a contrasting color to
the background; this was achieved by carefully carving a piece of
material with a flat plane where two contrasting colors met, removing
all the first color except for the image to leave a contrasting
background.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Today the term may be used very loosely for objects with no color
contrast, and other, metaphorical, terms have developed, such as cameo appearance. This derives from another generalized meaning that has developed, the cameo as an image of a head in an oval frame in any medium, such as a photograph.</div>
<span style="text-align: justify;"> Ancient and Renaissance cameos were made from semi-precious gemstones, especially the various types of onyx and agate, and any other stones with a flat plane where two contrasting colors meet; these are "hardstone" cameos. In cheaper modern work, shell and glass are more common. Glass cameo vessels, such as the famous Portland Vase, were also developed by the Romans.</span></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><div style="text-align: justify;"> Modern cameos can be produced by setting a carved relief, such as a portrait, onto a background of a contrasting color. This is called an assembled cameo. Alternatively, a cameo can be carved by the traditional, but far more difficult, method directly out of a material with integral layers or banding, such as (banded) agate or layered glass, where different layers have different colors. Sometimes dyes are used to enhance these colors.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>

<div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">
During the Roman period the cameo technique was used on glass blanks, in imitation of objects being produced in agate or sardonyx. Cameo glass
objects were produced in two periods; between around 25 BC and 50/60
AD, and in the later Empire around the mid-third and mid-fourth century. Roman glass cameos are rare objects, with only around two hundred fragments and sixteen complete pieces known, only one of which dates from the later period. During the early period they usually consisted of a blue glass base with a white overlying layer, but those made during the later period usually have a colorless background covered with a translucent colored layer.
Blanks could be produced by fusing two separately cast sheets of glass,
or by dipping the base glass into a crucible of molten overlay glass
during blowing. The most famous example of a cameo from the early period is the Portland Vase. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Although occasionally used in Roman cameos, the earliest prevalent use of shell for cameo carving was during the Renaissance,
in the 15th and 16th centuries. Before that time, cameos were carved
from hardstone. The Renaissance cameos are typically white on a grayish
background and were carved from the shell of a mussel or cowry, the latter a tropical mollusk.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In the mid 18th century, explorations revealed new shell varieties. Helmet shells (<i>Cassis tuberosa</i>) from the West Indies, and queen conch shells (<i>Eustrombus gigas</i>) from the Bahamas
and West Indies, arrived in Europe. This sparked a big increase in the
number of cameos that were carved from shells. Conch shells carve very
well, but their color fades over time.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
After 1850 demand for cameos grew, as they became popular souvenirs of the Grand Tour among the middle class. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Sir Wallis Budge
alleged that the noun "Cameo" apparently comes from Kame'o, a word used
in kabbalistic slang to signify a "magical square", i. e. a kind of
talisman whereupon magical spells was carved.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Cameos are often worn as jewelry, but in ancient times were mainly used for signet rings and large earrings, although the largest examples were probably too large for this, and were just admired as objets d'art. Stone cameos of great artistry were made in Greece dating back as far as the 3rd century BC. The Farnese Tazza (a cup) is the oldest major Hellenistic piece surviving. They were very popular in Ancient Rome, especially in the family circle of Augustus. The most famous stone "state cameos" from this period are the Gemma Augustea, the Gemma Claudia made for the Emperor Claudius, and the largest flat engraved gem known from antiquity, the Great Cameo of France.
Roman Cameos became less common around in the years leading up to 300AD
although production continued at a much reduced rate right through the
Middle Ages.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The technique has since enjoyed periodic revivals, notably in the early Renaissance, and again in the 18th and 19th centuries. The Neoclassical revival began in France with Napoleon's support of the glyptic arts, and even his coronation crown was decorated with cameos.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In Britain, this revival first occurred during King George III's reign, and his granddaughter, Queen Victoria,
was a major proponent of the cameo trend, to the extent that they would
become mass-produced by the second half of the 19th century.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The visual art form of the cameo has even inspired at least one writer of more recent times, the 19th-century Russian poet Lev Mei, who composed a cycle of six poems entitled <i><span lang="ru">Камеи</span></i> (<i>Cameos</i>, 1861), as reflections on each of the Roman rulers from Julius Caesar to Nero. In 1852 Théophile Gautier titled a collection of his highly polished, lapidary poems <i>Emaux et Camées</i> (<i>Enamels and Cameos</i>).<br /> Many modern cameos are carved into layered agates. The layers are dyed
to create strong color contrasts. The most usual colors used for
two-layer stones are white on black,
white on blue, and white on red-brown. Three-layer stones are sometimes
made. The colors are usually black on white on black. The layers are
translucent; this allows the artist to create shading effects by
removing material to allow the background layer to show through. This
way a very realistic, lifelike quality to a figure can be achieved. For
example, thinning the top black layer on a three-layer stone changes its
color to shades of brown. Removing material from the white layer
creates shades of blue or grey, depending on the color of the base.<br />
The majority of modern agate cameos are carved with the aid of the
Ultrasonic Mill. This is a process where multiple copies of a master
design can be produced very quickly by pressing a master die onto the
agate cameo blank. A film of diamond slurry is used to aid cutting and
the die vibrates ultrasonically in a vertical motion. The master is
often hand carved by a skilled cameo artist. The result is a cameo that
has a satin surface texture described as "freshly fallen snow" (FFS) by
Anna Miller. This texture and the lack of any undercutting are used by appraisers as markers to prove that the cameo is machine-made.<br />
Cameos carved by hand are usually working from photographs of
the subject. The fact that there is usually only one copy made means
that the tooling costs involved rule out the ultrasonic carving process. There are very few people working in this field, as this is one of
the hardest challenges for any gemstone carver. The combination of a
highly developed artistic ability, craft skill and many years of
experience are needed to be able to create lifelike portraits.
<br />
It is quite rare, these days, for subjects other than portraits to be
carved by hand as agate cameos. The traditional themes of classical
scenes from mythology or a standard image of a young lady, are more
likely to be made with the help of the ultrasonic carving machine as a
limited collection of typically 50–200 pieces.<br />
Since the late 19th century, the species most used in good-quality cameos has been <i>Cypraecassis rufa</i>,
the bullmouth helmet, the shell of which can be up to 6 inches long. In
this species, the upper shell layer is whitish, and the lower shell
layer is a rich orange-brown. Modern sources for this shell are Madagascar and South Africa. The finest hand-carving of these shells takes place in Italy. The most highly prized shell for carving is the emperor or queen's helmet shell, <i>Cassis madagascariensis</i>.
This shell has white and dark brown layers and is known as sardonyx
shell, and looks similar to the layered agate known as sardonyx. This
shell is found in the waters of the Caribbean.<br />
The world center for cameo carving in shell today is Torre del Greco,
Italy. The shells are first marked with a series of ovals in a process
called signing, then cut into oval blanks for the cameo carver. The
actual cameo is mainly cut with a metal scraping tool called a <i>bulino,</i> an invention of Jewish artisan Antonio Cimeniello.
A number of metal gravers are used: flat-faced, round and
three-cornered. To speed production, grinding wheels are used to quickly
remove excess material. When the details are completed, the shell is
then soaked in olive oil, cleaned with soap and water and selectively
polished with a hand brush.<br />

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
An occasion on which a Western woman is likely to wear a veil is on her white wedding day. Brides
once used to wear their hair flowing down their back at their wedding
to symbolize their virginity. Veils covering the hair and face became a
symbolic reference to the virginity of the bride thereafter. A bride may
wear the face veil through the ceremony. Then either her father lifts
the veil, presenting the bride to her groom, or the groom lifts the veil
to symbolically consummate the marriage. Brides may make use of the
veil to symbolize and emphasize their status of purity during their
wedding however, and if they do, the lifting of the veil may be
ceremonially recognized as the crowning event of the wedding, when the
beauty of the bride is finally revealed to the groom and the guests.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In modern weddings, the ceremony of removing a face veil after the
wedding to present the groom with the bride may not occur, since couples
may have entered into conjugal relations prior to the wedding and it
may also be considered sexist for the bride to have her face covered
whether or not the veil is a sign of virginity.
In Scandinavia, brides wear a veil usually under a traditional crown
but do not have their face covered (instead the veil is attached to and
hangs from the back).</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
The bridal costume is always one of deepest interest. Here is a model that is charming in the extreme. In the illustration satin is combined with lace and with chemisette of chiffon, and there is a bunch of orange blossoms arranged at the left of the corsage. The arrangement of the veil is distinctive and new.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The blouse is one of the very new ones, giving the surplice effect, and with a postillion back. It includes double sleeves as well as the fichu is made of lace flouncing. The skirt is simple chiffon for the chemisette and puffed under sleeves.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There are many brides-to-be who would delight in embroidering their own wedding veils, and the work will be found both easy and effective. To make a good-sized square veil, four yards of Brussels net are required. (<i>newspaper, 1911</i>)</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
A father-daughter dance or a mother-son dance is a dance between a daughter or son and their parent. These dances are common at Western wedding receptions,
although not all weddings have a parent-child dance. In situations
where a child's parent is not available, he or she may be substituted with a person of an older generation, such as an uncle, aunt or the father/mother of a close friend.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For many Americans who choose to have a small wedding, family members are most usually more present than not. In cases such as these, playlists like the one included below, are more "family friendly" for dance included at their wedding receptions. If you have both family and close friends you could choose to change the playlist over to more romantic music for singles and married couples as the dance continues later into the night. </div>

They would perhaps purchase one or two new pieces every few years. People did not wear a different change of clothing daily, however, their clothing was made of excellent materials. The full dress suits above would have been made from a very fine wool and would have lasted for many years. "When I Fall in Love" is a popular song, written by Victor Young (music) and Edward Heyman (lyrics). It was introduced in the film <i>One Minute to Zero</i>. Jeri Southern
sang on the first recording released in April 1952 with the song's
composer, Victor Young, handling the arranging and conducting duties.
The song has become a standard, with many artists recording it, though
the first hit version was sung by Doris Day released in July 1952.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
"The law of kindness is on her tongue." The valiant woman is gentle. She cultivates self-control and good temper. If married people soon forget each other's faces, they are ever cognizant of each other's bad temper. Marriage, like government, is a series of compromises that needs diplomacy or better charity and self-control. A writer goes so far as to say" "Of all qualities 'tis good temper that wears and works best in married life." The poet Burns was evidently of this opinion, endorsed by the millions, that of all things likely to lose an otherwise good woman her social dominion and her husband's esteem and love, the surest is a bed temper. He distributes the qualities desirable in a wife under ten points. Two points he gives to good sense; fortune, family blood, higher education, social connections, etc., he bunches together, saying, "These must be expressed by fractions, as not one of them is entitled to the dignity of an integer." No less then four out of ten points he gives to good temper. <i>Charles Alfred Martin</i></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Who settled the naming of the anniversaries of the wedding day is not known, but it was a happy thought; for it is a charming idea to celebrate the different wedding anniversaries by entertaining one's friends in some novel way. It is not enough to make the celebration a mere gathering of one's friends to spend an evening contemplating a spectacle of mutual felicity; there must be something done to entertain them, and in this day of innovations the hostess must have her wits about her to find some form of jollification which will interest the entire assemblage. The anniversaries have been recognized by the following titles for many years and are variously celebrated: </div>
<ol style="text-align: left;">
<li>One year , Cotton Wedding. </li>
<li>Two years, Paper Wedding. </li>
<li>Three years, Leather Wedding. </li>
<li>Five years, Wooden Wedding. </li>
<li>Seven years, Woolen Wedding. </li>
<li>Ten years, Tin Wedding. </li>
<li>Twelve years , Silk or Linen Wedding. </li>
<li>Fifteen years, Crystal Wedding. </li>
<li>Twenty years, China Wedding. </li>
<li>Twenty-five years, Silver Wedding. </li>
<li>Thirty years, Pearl Wedding. </li>
<li>Thirty-five years, Lace Wedding. </li>
<li>Forty years, Ruby Wedding. </li>
<li>Fifty years, Golden Wedding. </li>
<li>Seventy-five years, Diamond Wedding.</li>
</ol>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The first five or six wedding anniversaries are apt to be seasons of delightful frolic for all invited. Usually no sorrow has come to the home and all goes happy as the first marriage bell. The bride and groom are in the heyday of life, and the woman of thirty or thirty-five finds nothing sad in the fact that, while she is not so slender, she is even lovelier in her matronly beauty than on her wedding day. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It is a charming idea to celebrate the different anniversaries by some simple form of entertainment. Include, if possible, in your invitations all the guests who were with you on your wedding day, although a cozy little dinner, to which are bidden the bridesmaids, ushers and intimate friends, will be the most effective celebration. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Fanciful divisions of the years into shorter epochs than mark the silver, golden or diamond weddings are frequently accepted as occasions for merry-making. Of these the wooden, tin, and crystal weddings are those most commonly observed. Other anniversaries, also described in the following pages, are occasions not neglected by the lovers of merriment. The invitations to these souvenir entertainments are usually suggestive of the occasion and are frequently of a humorous or original character, following the lines of some of the invitations given in the ensuing chapters. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The epoch which is marked off by twenty-five years of wedded life is especially honored by being named the silver wedding, while the lapse of another quarter of a century brings the golden wedding, and still another quarter the diamond wedding. Formal invitations to a silver wedding are usually printed in silver and to a golden wedding in gold upon heavy note-sheets, and frequently the initials of the lady's maiden and marriage names are combined in an embossed monogram at the top of the page between the dates of her marriage and its anniversary celebration. Very often these are the only features which distinguish them from invitations to other receptions, the wording being the same, though the golden wedding, being less usual, is noted by a more impressive formula, which "request the honor of your company" the names of the bride and groom being frequently printed a line below at opposite sides of the page. While such invitations may be, and are, varied in many ways, such divergences as personal taste directs are more frequently in the direction of removing than adding formality. The following is a very good form of invitation: </div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
1900 1915</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Mr. and Mrs. Walters </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
request the pleasure of your company </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
on Wednesday, December the tenth , at eight o'clock </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Silver Wedding </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
James Walters Alice Jones </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
22 Morris Avenue </div>
<br />
Another form of invitation is as follows: <br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Crystal Wedding </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Manning </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
At Home </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Friday evening, April twenty-fourth </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
nineteen hundred and six </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
141 Van Wyck Avenue </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1900 1915 </div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Either of these invitations will serve for any of the anniversaries by simply changing the wording to suit the particular occasion. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
At these wedding anniversaries host and hostess are, during the time of receiving their guests, bride and groom, and congratulations are offered them beneath a floral wedding bell, an umbrella or canopy, and afterward they leave their station and go about among their guests. Usually the celebration is regulated entirely after the manner of an evening party. Host and hostess take places in the opening dance, and also lead the way to supper. This is usually found more practicable and is considered better form than the attempt to duplicate the original wedding festivities, which may have taken place in the morning. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Gifts from near friends and relatives are in order, but so deeply rooted is the distaste of refined people for making such occasions the opportunity for display or a draft upon the generosity of acquaintances, that many "invitations bear in the left-hand corner the words "no gifts received." Privileged friends may send gifts, but the latitude allowed in choosing these wedding presents often takes the choice almost if not entirely out of the realm of the designated ware or material of the anniversary. However, appropriate gifts can usually be found and, as in the case of the silver anniversary, this metal is every day extending its sway, and the number of artistic and useful articles that are fashioned out of it is all the time increasing in beauty and variety, one may indulge in the fancy for selecting some articles of silver, without being compelled to choose something which can only be purchased by h large outlay of money. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Of course, as many as possible of the friends who assisted at the first ceremony are present at the anniversary. A feature of the table appointments is usually a beautifully frosted cake, upon which the monogram of the couple and the dates of the marriage and the wedding anniversary are conspicuously displayed. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If one feels free to respond to an invitation to a wedding anniversary by sending a gift, it should be presented to both husband and wife, as such invitations are of course issued in the name of both, and neither should be ignored. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In replying to an invitation to a wedding anniversary, it is quite proper to offer congratulations to those who thus announce the number of years of happy wedlock. A brief and comprehensive formula is:<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Morgan accept with pleasure Mr. and Mrs. George </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
King's kind invitation for Friday evening, October the tenth, and present to them </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
their warmest congratulations on their China Wedding Anniversary. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
8 Willow Street. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
October first.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Wedding-rings have been in use from early days, but the early Christians do not appear to have adopted them till 860 A. D. They were not at first the plain circlets we now use, but were often highly decorated.</div>

The custom was of pagan origin, and at first was not welcomed by the Church. Even in the time of the Commonwealth the custom was considered to be of <i>"heathenish origin,"</i> and was discouraged, though not entirely abandoned. In some countries both men and women wear them. No doubt many of the posy rings were made for this purpose, including those with mottoes such as:</div>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li><i>"In thee my choice I do rejoice"</i></li>
<li><i>"Tis God above doth seal our love"</i></li>
<li><i>"Thou hast my heart till Death doth part" </i></li>
<li><i>"I kiss the rod from thee and God"</i></li>

This color palette is traditional with a twist. The twist being the unusual additional "mauve" color mixed in with the plums and purple shades. Neutral to Warm skin tones are flattered by mauve. If the majority of your bridesmaids indeed have warm skin tones, you might consider dressing them in this unusual color palette. A White bridal gown paired with mauve accents is very sophisticated. Add a splash of gold, sage and magenta to the floral arrangements to further dramatize the majority of plums/purples used throughout the wedding party's garments and your flower arrangements.

The original title of the song was "He Will Break Your Heart". It was written by Jerry Butler, Calvin Carter, and Curtis Mayfield. The song was recorded by Butler and released as a single in 1960, where it peaked at No. 7 on the <i>Billboard</i> Hot 100 chart. In addition, Butler's recording spent seven non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the U.S. R&B chart. Subsequent cover versions of "He Will Break Your Heart" were released by artists such as The Righteous Brothers and Freddie Scott.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Jerry Butler currently resides in Chicago with his wife, Annette, who is one of
his backup singers on the road. He has two sons, Randy and Tony, and a
grandson, Jeriel. Since his 1991 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Impressions, several music writers and critics have stated that Butler also deserves a second induction as a <i>solo</i> artist, based upon his successful career as a recording artist and songwriter after leaving that group.</div>
